Cyber Bullying Poster - Art 235 Project.
Hello everyone, for my last project for my Graphic Design class, I had to create 3 posters that show cases an important message. I picked Cyber Bullying for my topic. I think Cyber Bullying is a delicate topic, yet very important to communicate, specially to our youth.

To start, I created a word wall with all the words I can come up that are some how a description or a representation of Cyber Bullying, that way is easier for me to come up with ideas for my posters.
Once I was done with my word wall, I looked up for poster ideas, to give me a sense of direction on how I wanted my posters to look like. All the posters I found were very dark. I decided to go a little softer, I wanted my posters to be directed to a younger audience.

At the beginning my sketches were looking very harsh since cyber bullying is a very sensitive topic, once done with my sketches I asked family members to picked their favorite one. It was hard for them to pick one, I’ll share some of my sketches with you….

After deciding which sketches to work on, I was thinking to my self how to make the posters appealing for teens, I decided to pick subtle colors, and some drawing.

For my first poster, I wanted to draw a monster, that is coming out of a phone, its body is a little similar to a text/message box. I wanted the monster to represent the mean words people can write/send at times, and then I added a person that is affected by the words that were send.

The next poster, as you can see, I draw a hand holding a phone. The phone is an image I got from the internet, I used photoshop and procreate to create this poster, I wanted the phone to represent the feelings of the person holding the phone.

My last poster is not as aggressive, I draw a small key board spelling the phrase “STOP IT!”. It’s almost a plea to the viewer to choose kind words when posting, commenting, replaying in social media, or even private conversations.
